Chef Alexis Nahhas
In my family, feeding people has always been the highest act of love. My mother was always up for a challenge. She served elaborate gourmet meals inspired by her travels and that were guaranteed to impress.
I have always found extreme joy in feeding people, especially when I discovered I had a knack for technique and a passion for creating not just a dish, but an experience.
I began my culinary journey in Southern California. With easy access to education, I attended a community college that had the same curriculum and textbooks as the renowned Culinary Institute of America in Healdsburg CA. Instructors included award winning chefs and a New York Times food critic who all shared insider restaurant stories and personal shopping finds.
My career and creativity exploded with the support of a local wine bar that was ready to dip into food pairings. Together we developed an exciting menu drawn from family recipes and our love of pairing wine with the perfect bite.
Quickly we grew the operation: Wine Club parties, private supper club events, weddings, and more, both onsite and offsite.
What I love about food and wine are the stories behind their creation. Through my wine bar and restaurant experience, I learned how to tell those stories without words. People loved it.
While on a vacation in the Pacific Northwest, my folks decided to move from Los Angeles to Bellingham WA. Less than a year later, I followed! I found a home with Haggen Catering and had the pleasure of working with extraordinary ingredients and wonderfully talented chefs.
Being constantly inspired by the beauty of Puget Sound and all four seasons, I have been able to nourish myself creating delightful dishes and nutritious meals. It is my absolute privilege to share the same with you!
